How to play a side-by-side 3D movie into 2D using Media Player Classic

  

This will happen when you play a Side-By-Side 3D movie in normal PC media player. In order to watch the movie properly we're going to use the Media Player Classic and configure the video player to focus either in the two picture frame(left or right). 

You will see split picture from the playing movie


 Step 1: 
 
Download the free software in MPC Official Site. And install it to your computer.


Step 2:
  
Open the MPC player and configure the Pan&Scan Settings (see below the steps).

 In the MPC player menu. Select View->Pan&Scan->Edit then a Pan&Scan Preset window setting will appear. Select "New" button then rename "new" entry to "3D[SBS] to 2D" and configure the Pos and Zoom (see on figure 1.2). Refer to figure 1.2 for "3D[SBS] to 2D" Pos and Zoom configuration then click "set" button and then click "Save" button.

RIGHT FRAME
POS: 0.0000 is the left position of the picture.
POS: 0.5000 is the top position of the picture
Zoom: 2.000 is the zoom width 
Zoom: 1.0000 is the zoom height

LEFT FRAME
POS: 1.0000 is the left position of the picture.
POS: 0.5000 is the top position of the picture
Zoom: 2.000 is the zoom width 
Zoom: 1.0000 is the zoom height


Note #1: You can adjust the zoom height for the different aspect ratio of the video.
Note # 2: You can add the 2 Pan&Scan configuration, the Left Frame and the Right Frame.



TESTING:

Now we are currently done with the configuration. Now we're going to see the result. In the MPC menu select View->Pan&Scan->3D[SBS] to 2D and view the movie in full screen mode. That's all. I hope I can help you some how and +1 or like. Thank you. Have a nice day to all.

    Cool one mate, but I had the 3D movie that I wanted to play (Top and Bottom) not (Side to Side)
    so I made a scissor for the values you entered, and voila, it is working.

      Reverse the values,

      SBS
      POS: 0.0000 is the left position of the picture.
      POS: 0.5000 is the top position of the picture
      Zoom: 2.000 is the zoom width
      Zoom: 1.0000 is the zoom height

      Top and Bottom

      Mabye it's because the subtitle was encoded with the video. Try to load an external subtitle file for the video.

      Most .MKV video file was muxed with subtitle file and it's not encoded with the video file.

      I think you should select reset in pan&scan selections or just press numpad number 5 in your keyboard while playing a video.

      Playing Kraftwerk 3-D rip , top bottom 3d video. Under MPC player:

      Pos:
      0.5 and 0.35

      Zoom:
      1.00 and 2.00

      Works great. Half of the Video able to fill up whole 16x9 monitor screen.

    I dont think it's solving the problem,it means it's not the true method , because it just lengthen the video, it only makes it as a 2D video, meanwhile we need the 3D video, so the result must the single video with redcyan/greenmagenta/yellowcyan color,not like this. Thank you

    I understand your concern. But this method is for the 3D movie to be watch in just 2D method only. Not for 3D to be render as single frame 3D. You should have at least 3D TV or monitor if you want to 3D movie as 3D. Thank you :)

    Note: I used external subtitles and they were placed at the very left of the screen, so I used "Options" - "Subtitles"- Checked "Manual position", and set "Horizontal" to 75%. Now the subtitles are centered. (Sorry I am using the spanish version, don't know if the option is "Manual position" in english, it is the first one).

    Hi! I don't know how to set left and right frame. There are only 4 boxes to fill in Pan&Scan Presets (two for position and two for zoom). I'm not sure if it work properly - the depth of 3D is quite small..

    Hello. Using MPC 1.9.14.18 inside k-lite codec pack 16.3.5 Full and utilizing Options->Playback->Output->DirectShow Video->MadVR as a renderer these presets don't work for me. They do work if you choose other renderer like MPC Video Renderer or Enhanced Video Renderer. Does anyone know presets to work for MadVR as well. Or may be there's some work around? Thanks
